These terms apply when you use this website or our free downloads. By using either, you accept them. Last updated 2 September 2026.

1. Our workbooks are a study aid

Our materials are written to help students prepare for GCSE English Language. They are a study aid. We do not guarantee any particular grade or examination result. How a student does depends on that student, their teaching and their own work.

Specifications and mark schemes change. Always check the current official specification for your examination board.

2. We are independent

Pass GCSE English is an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, licensed by or authorised by AQA or any other examination board. Where we describe something as “AQA-style” we mean it follows the format and demands of the assessment; we do not reproduce past-paper material. Specification names are the trademarks of their owners and are used here for identification only.

3. Copyright

Everything on this site and in our workbooks — text, exercises, model answers, illustrations, cover artwork and design — is our copyright or is used under licence. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, scan, upload, resell or distribute any part of it without our written permission.

Buying a workbook entitles one student to write in and use that copy. It does not give anyone the right to photocopy it for a class, a tutoring group or a school. If you would like to use our material with a group, email us about a licence.

4. Free downloads

Our free PDFs may be downloaded, printed and passed on to students, parents, colleagues or anyone else who would find them useful, on three conditions: that they are shared complete and unaltered, that no charge is made for them, and that they are not bundled with any paid product. They may not be republished in whole or in part without our written permission.

5. Buying our workbooks

Who we sell to. Orders must be placed by someone aged 18 or over. Students under 18 should ask a parent or carer to order for them.

Where we deliver. We currently deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only.

Prices and delivery. Prices are in pounds sterling and include free UK delivery. We may change prices at any time, but the price shown at checkout is the price for that order. If we spot an obvious pricing error before we dispatch, we will contact you and you can confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.

How an order is made. Placing an order at the checkout is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we email you to confirm the order. Payment is taken at the checkout.

Printing and delivery times. Our workbooks are print-on-demand paperbacks, printed and posted in the UK. Orders are usually dispatched within 7 to 10 working days. If an order is going to take longer than that, we will email you. We will deliver within 30 days of your order unless we agree something different with you; if we cannot, you may cancel and have your money back.

Changing your mind, returns and refunds. You can cancel for any reason within 14 days of receiving your order, and there are separate arrangements for orders that have not yet been printed, for bundles, and for anything damaged, faulty or wrong. The full detail is set out in our Refunds and Returns policy, which forms part of these terms.

Free downloads. Our free PDFs are provided at no charge and are covered by section 4 above rather than by these terms of sale.

Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

6. The website itself

We try to keep this site available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change or withdraw content at any time. Links to other websites are there for convenience; we are not responsible for what is on them.

7. Liability

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including your statutory rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable.

8. Complaints, and the law that applies

If something has gone wrong, email hello@passgcseenglish.co.uk and we will try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
